June Happenings

With June, the long green season of the church begins. As the summer warms, the activities about the church slow.

First up, how is the screen? Pastor has only heard positive comments. One of our Renew goals is to pilot digital screen technology during the service. Stage one is just trying a screen. Stage two is making it prettier. Stage three is adding all the lyrics, music, and liturgy to the screen. (This step requires a subscription.) But what are your thoughts? Email the office or pastor.

Starting in June, many ministries take a break. WotC will return in September. The Busy Bee Quilters will return in September. Monthly pot-lucks also take a break for the summer.

What do the ten commandments teach us? On June 7, at 9:15 am, Adult Sunday School will begin a new study. Pastor will be teaching. We will study Small Catechism. Luther considered this one of his two greatest works. I highly recommend that you all attend. When was the last time you read the Small Catechism? That was too long ago. Relearn this masterpiece.

On the secular calendar, June 21 is Father’s Day. While mentioning the secular calendar, June 14 is Flag Day, June 19 is Juneteenth (and national martini day).

June is also national Fidelity Month. The goal of this movement is to celebrate and restore honor to “the importance of fidelity to God, our spouses and families, our country, and our communities.” Learn more look at fidelitymonth.com.
