The Rev. Patrick K Welton was called to become the Pastor of Peace Lutheran Church, Rockdale, Texas on April 23rd, 2023 and began serving our congregation on May 21th, 2023.
Pastor Patrick and his wife, Amy Jeanne, come to Rockdale from the Texas Hill Country. He and his wife have two grown children.
Pastor Patrick was raised in White Oak, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from Texas A & M University, a Master of Arts in mathematics from the University of Texas, and most recently, a Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies from Christ’s School of Theology of the Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT). He served as intern (vicar) at Trinity Lutheran Church of Blanco Texas. He was ordained in 2022 and served as interim pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church of Blanco Texas (2022-2023).
While Pastor Patrick has had a passion for God’s people most of his life, he comes to the ordained ministry late in life. Prior to serving as a pastor, he was a research scientist, a home educator, and a volunteer for many ministries.
In addition to his parish ministry, Pastor Patrick is an adjunct instructor of mathematics at ILT, where he also is pursuing a Master of Sacred Theology. He volunteers for Trail Life USA. Further, he is also involved in the Rockdale Ministerial Alliance.
In his free time, Pastor Patrick enjoys being outdoors, cooking good food, reading, and spending time with friends and family. He would love to meet up with you for lunch or coffee.
