The Season of Easter continues until May 24, which will be the Feast of Pentecost. On May 17, we will observe the feast of Ascension. May 31 is Trinity Sunday.
On Mother’s Day, May 10, we will pilot digital screen technology during the service. This is one of our six month Renew goals. Thanks Kent Givens & Rebecca Luckey!
Potluck lunch returns for graduation Sunday, May 31. Bring a dish and enjoy the community of saints. God is good. After the service, the potluck will honor Nathan Jeter. In May he will complete a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice / Law Enforcement Administration from Sam Houston State University. He hopes to one day serve as a Texas Game Warden, inspired by his lifelong appreciation for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and wildlife stewardship.
This is the last planned potluck for the Spring. Potluck Sundays will return in the Fall.
The NALC Director of Mission Partnerships asked congregations to prayer for our missionaries by names. Great idea! They are now included in the Prayers of the Church. Speaking of the prayers, earlier this year we also started praying for a different country each week. See “Prayers” for upcoming prayer concerns.
On June 7, at 9:15 am, Adult Sunday School will begin a new study. Pastor will be teaching. We will study Small Catechism. Luther considered this one of his two greatest works. I highly recommend that you all attend. When was the last time you read the Small Catechism? That was too long ago. Relearn this masterpiece.
