Holy Week & Easter Sunday
Holy Week is upon us. The Maundy Thursday service will be at 6:30 pm on Thursday April 2; this service recalls Jesus institution of the Lord’s Supper with his disciples. The Good Friday Service will be at 6:30 pm on Friday April 3. Good Friday recalls the last hours of Jesus as he hung on the cross as the suffering servant.
Easter is April 5, 2026. The divine service of the Feast of the Resurrection will be at our usual time—10:30 am. But, before the service we will have potluck breakfast brunch at 9:00 am followed by an Easter egg hunt at 9:30 am.
RMA Holy Week Luncheons
Peace is hosting the Rockdale Ministerial Alliance Holy Week Luncheons. (That’s a mouthful.) The RMA invites the community to these events. That is Monday March 30, Tuesday March 31, and Wednesday April 1. The event begins at 12:00 noon and should be over by 1:00 pm.
Seven churches are participating this year. The following are helping as of publication date. On Monday, Pastor Welton of Peace will be speaking. Pat Watson from St. Joseph Catholic Church will be providing music. St. Joseph Catholic Church and Rising Star Baptist Church are providing the meal. On Tuesday, Pastor Free of First Christian is speaking, the First Presbyterian Choir will be singing, and First Presbyterian and First Christian are providing the meal. On Wednesday, Pastor Garcia-Tabor of St. John Methodist Church is speaking, Kelley McRae will provide music for St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and St John and St Thomas will provide the meal. Come and invite your neighbors.
Lenten Wednesdays
Soup Suppers have been a great success. The soups and desserts were delicious and pastor enjoyed the enthusiasm of our congregation on learning the history of our Bibles.
