Easter falls early this year and that means that the Season after Epiphany is short. The last Sunday of the season, Transfiguration, falls on February 15. Thus Lent begins on February 18 with Ash Wednesday. Our Ash Wednesday service will be at 6:30 pm. I always love this service and hope you do too.
I am writing this article before our annual congregational meeting. By now, you probably know the results of our vote on the NALC Constitutional amendments, but I will report on it next month.
Soup Suppers Returns
Great fun was had at our January potluck with congratulating Jeni. With Lent beginning in February, it time to put on hold the potluck and begin Soup Suppers. The monthly potluck will resume after Easter, in April.
Soup Suppers begin be at 6:00 pm on February 25. A committee will be assigned to each Wednesday to setup, clean up, etc, etc. If you are on a committee, be ready to serve your congregation. At about 6:30 pm, we have evening prayer.
Afterwards, Pastor Welton will teach on “How We Got the Bible.” Pastor expects to be a great series of lessons on history of the Bible.
Soup Suppers will be on February 25, March 4, 11, 18, and 25. Holy week begins on March 29 and Easter falls on April 5.
