Semi-annual Meeting

Twice a year, Peace Lutheran has a semi-annual congregational meeting. Our next meeting in January 25, 2026. Currently two items are on the agenda.

The first item is approving the new year’s budget.

The second item is approving Amendments to the NALC constitution. That is the constitution of our church body, the North American Lutheran Church, not ours at Peace Lutheran Church.

At the 2025 Mission Convocation in Pittsburgh, delegates voted to approve three amendments to the NALC Constitution. Now, Peace Lutheran has been asked to vote “yes” or “no” on the proposed amendments.

We will vote on Three Amendments as one. Amendment One is on cleaning up Scrivener’s errors and moving some language into bylaws. Amendment Two concerns the “North American Lutheran Seminary.” Amendment Three creates a new, Article 16, on “Legal and Financial Matters.” Full information on the changes are available in the narthex.

Remember that one of the Core Values that guides the NALC in our mission and ministry is Congregationally-Focused. “We strive to be a church that is organized to facilitate the ministries of local congregations in a posture of servanthood and a spirit of partnership, through the provision of resources, connections and information.” Participation in semiannual meetings is one way the people of Peace Lutheran function as a congregation.
