Dear church family,
June 21 marked my official start as pastor at Peace Lutheran Church. As I step into this role, I am humbled by the opportunity to serve alongside each and every one of you, and I am eager to embark on this journey of faith together.
As your new pastor, my vision is to cultivate a community where each person can encounter God, experience spiritual growth, and find their unique place in God’s kingdom. I believe that a thriving church is one that seeks to meet the needs of its members, both spiritually and practically, while also engaging with the broader community to extend God’s love and compassion to those around us.
In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to getting to know each of you personally and learning more about the unique gifts and passions within our congregation, while learning more about our Rockdale. I am eager to listen, to learn, and to serve alongside you as we seek to discern God’s will for our church and faithfully live out the teachings of Christ.
Not all of you read the newspaper or my resumé, so I will share my history. I was born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, raised in the pineywoods of Northeast Texas, went to college the first time at Texas A & M in College Station for a degree in aerospace engineering, the second time at the University of Texas for a degree in advanced mathematics, and the third time at the Institute of Lutheran Theology for a master of divinity. My first career was as a research scientist, my second career was a homeschooling parent, and now the third is in the ministry.
Please know that my door is always open, and I am available to support you in any way I can. Whether you have questions, concerns, or simply wish to share your joys and struggles, I am here to journey with you. Let us walk together in faith, encouraging and upholding one another as we grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Once again, I am deeply honored to serve as your pastor, and I am excited about the journey of faith that lies ahead. May we be strengthened by God’s Spirit and guided by His Word to the honor of the Father, so the love of Christ shine brightly in our midst.
May God’s blessings be upon you and your families.
